Temecula Valley Employer is seeking a Controller to join their organization. The Controller will be responsible for managing all accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, purchasing, and cost accounting. The Controller will oversee the preparation of financial statements, budgeting, financial analysis, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Additionally, the Controller will supervise accounting staff, implement effective accounting policies and procedures, and support management in strategic decision-making.

The Controller will oversee the day-to-day accounting functions, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, purchasing, and cost accounting activities as well as ensure accurate and timely financial transactions and reporting across all areas.
This Controller will be expected to develop, implement, and manage cost accounting systems to track and allocate costs effectively across various departments and projects and analyze cost structures, variances, and profitability to provide management with actionable insights. In this role the Controller will monitor and report on cost control measures and recommend improvements for efficiency.

Part of the role of this Controller is to ensure that all financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, cash-flow statements, and budget variance analysis, are prepared in a timely, accurate, and compliant manner as well as provide comprehensive analysis of financial performance to senior management.

The Controller will direct the preparation of the organization's budget, review budget proposals, and ensure the necessary supporting documentation and justification are provided and develop financial forecasts and monitor actual performance against budget, analyzing variances and recommending corrective actions.
In this role the Controller will supervise monthly balancing of the books and monthly account reviews. Prepare and present monthly financial statements to management, highlighting key financial metrics, trends, and variances as well as coordinating the annual independent audit and overseeing the preparation of all tax documents. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and government regulations.

The Controller will ensure the organization complies with statutory payroll tax regulations, property tax reporting, and other relevant compliance requirements and stay current with industry regulations and ensure adherence to accounting principles and standards.

In this role the Controller will assist with the organization’s strategic planning, identifying financial trends, and supporting long-term goals. The Controller will participate in and manage special projects as assigned, providing financial insights and guidance as well as analyze and interpret economic conditions and industry trends to forecast their potential impact on the organization as well as provide recommendations to mitigate risks and capitalize on emerging opportunities. In this role the Controller will hire, train, supervise, motivate, and develop accounting and finance staff and manage workflows, schedules, and ensure all team members are meeting performance objectives.

You must have
5 years or more in hospitality and multi facility finances.
3-5 years as a senior accountant or working controller.
Strong team building skills and mentorship leadership.
Advanced Excel
