Administrative Specialist, CG-301-07/09 - Military Veterans

These positions are located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Kansas City, MO, San Francisco, CA, Dallas, TX and Chicago, IL Regional Offices of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provide administrative resources and perform various duties in support of Risk Management Supervision and Depositor and Consumer Protection. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

At the full performance level, major duties include: Maintains tracking data related to detail assignments, commission status, Technical Evaluation test dates/scores, transfers, rotational/return right positions, and monitors reports on Examiner progression tracking and appointment tenure dates. Initiates job requisitions for vacancy announcements and initiates and reviews personnel actions for conversions, reassignments, promotions, resignations, retirements, etc. Coordinates the pre-exit clearance process for departing and transferring employees and coordinates the region’s Examiner Credentialing Tracking System Assists RAS in providing direct advice and guidance to the Administrative Assistant Regional Director (AARD), senior management, and other supervisors throughout the region on various policy and procedural aspects of administrative programs. Assists in overseeing the region's incentive award expenditures; prepares and distributes monthly award budget reports for each supervisor and senior management. Transacts expenditures using a corporate procurement credit card and convenience checks, and performs monthly reconciliation of these expenditures.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify for CG-07, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-05 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative support, preparing written documents using word processing software, and maintaining reports using spreadsheet software. OR One full year of graduate level education or Superior Academic Achievement. OR A COMBINATION of graduate level education as described above, and specialized experience as described below, that together meet the qualification requirements for this position. To qualify for CG-09, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS/CG-07 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience providing administrative support, coordinating processes or projects, preparing written documents using word processing software, and developing reports using spreadsheet software. OR A master's or equivalent graduate degree (such as an LL.B. or J.D., if related) or two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education. OR A COMBINATION of graduate level education as described above beyond the 1st full year of graduate education, and specialized experience as described below, that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
