Teaching Professor (non-tenure) - Open Rank, Child, Family & Population Health Nursing - Military Veterans

Position Description

The Department of Child, Family, and Population Health Nursing, in the School of Nursing at the University of Washington, invites applications for two 80% to full-time, 9-month teaching-track faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Teaching Professor, commensurate with experience, beginning in September 2025. Although it is a 9-month appointment, the position may have opportunities for teaching and/or research funding during summer quarter. The initial appointment period will be a mimimum of three years, depending on the rank of hire.

The Department of Child, Family, and Population Health Nursing is committed to promoting wellness, social justice, and health equity for diverse individuals, communities, and families. This position will be expected to demonstrate a commitment to teaching and mentoring a diverse community of students and faculty in the undergraduate and graduate programs, and to working collaboratively across disciplines, cultures, and academic backgrounds. Undergraduate and/or graduate teaching experience in childbearing families, midwifery, pediatrics or population health nursing will be a positive factor in consideration for this position. The base salary range for the position(s) will be - Assistant Teaching Professor: $9,500-10,900 per month ($85,000-98,100 annually); Associate Teaching Professor: $10,000-12,000 per month ($90,000-108,000 annually); or Full Teaching Professor: $12,000-14,000 per month ($108,000-126,000 annually); commensurate with experience and qualifications.

The nationally ranked University of Washington School of Nursing offers a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP; covering a range of practice specialties), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree programs. Qualifications

Candidates must have a master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in nursing or related field. A doctoral degree (or foreign equivalent) in nursing or a related field is also acceptable.

Candidates must be eligible for and seek RN or APRN/ARNP licensure in Washington State prior to hire.

To be eligible for an H-1B visa that allows patient care, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all 3 steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. Graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) nursing schools must have a Visa Screen credentials assessment from the Commission on Graduates of Foreign Nursing Schools (CGFNS). Note: Only full-time positions are eligible for UW visa and permanent residence sponsorship.
