Neurology -Stroke Physician - FH-1783 | Brown University - Military Veterans

Brown Neurology, a faculty practice plan which contracts for the provision of neurology services with Rhode Island Hospital, is seeking a physician to be employed full-time. The successful candidate must be Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology and specialize in Stroke. Fellowship training or research experience in Stroke is preferred but not required. The successful candidate will qualify for appointment at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor level in the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University. The individual selected must also have a record of accomplishment, promise as a teacher and as a clinician while also having a record of accomplishments pertinent to the academic rank of initial appointment. These positions are part of the long-term academic plan for the Rhode Island Hospital and Warren Alpert Medical School. The selected individual will participate in the educational programs in Neurology for medical students and residents as well as other staff members at the Rhode Island Hospital. In addition, this individual will participate by providing Neurology care to patients of the Hospital. The successful candidate will collaborate with the other faculty and the Chairperson of the Department of Neurology in educational programs, in scholarly work, and in clinical activities. In conjunction with the Brown Neurology Attending Physicians, the selected individual will rotate onto the Neurology Ward and Consult Attending Services at Rhode Island Hospital and Women and Infants? Hospital. The successful applicant will be expected to be a productive scholar and will be provided with opportunities for research. Job Requirements and Preferences 1. Must be Board Eligible or Board Certified in Neurology. 2. Training in research, with an emphasis on stroke is highly desirable. 3. Must demonstrate excellence as a teacher of Neurology. 4. Must be an accomplished clinician able to serve as a teaching role model for pre-doctoral and post-doctoral medical students, interns, and residents. Must show promise of developing an ongoing record of scholarly productivity through research or other means appropriate to the academic rank and to timely academic promotion. 5. Appointee in academic track will be provided 20% protected time to pursue academic and research opportunities.
