Associate Professor without tenure (WOT), General Internal Medicine (Hospital Medicine) - Military Veterans

The University of Washington?s Department of Medicine, Division of General Internal Medicine, is seeking applicants for a full-time (1.0 FTE) faculty position to be based at Harborview Medical Center (HMC). This position will include serving as an attending physician on the Hospital Medicine Service at HMC, and will actively participate in medical education, providing both patient-centered and structured didactic teaching of medical students, residents, fellows, and other faculty. This position will also generate scholarly works related to global health, infectious disease, and immune deficiency.

This position will be at the Associate Professor rank (without tenure due to funding). Associate Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The anticipated start date would be April 1, 2025.

Salary

The base salary range for this position will be: $20,834 - $22,084 per month ($250,008 - $265,008 annually), commensurate with experience and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Other Compensation

Other compensation associated with this position will include additional compensation of $3,084 ? $7,084 per month ($37,008 - $85,008 annually) for work on the hospital medicine service. Exact amounts are based on appointment FTE and clinical FTE (cFTE) at the time of hire.

Applicants must have a medical (MD or DO) degree (or foreign equivalent) and board certification* in Internal Medicine (or foreign equivalent). Applicants must hold or be eligible for Washington State Medical License.

Eligible candidates must show evidence of scholarly productivity and peer-reviewed publications of original studies related to global health, infectious disease, and immune deficiency.

*Note: Board certification in Internal Medicine must be completed within two years after residency.

In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE) or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
