Position Summary The Uberoi Lab is seeking a Research Technician II to support and advance our work in studying host-microbiome interactions at the skin surface.

As part of our innovative research program, you will contribute to unraveling the complex interplay between the skin, its microbiome, and the external environment. Our investigations extend to understanding responses to challenges such as injury, skin diseases, and various external stimuli. Our work is highly interdisciplinary, and we are looking for candidates with familiarity with microbiology, host biology (specifically murine models), tissue culture and/or prior experience in computational biology.

A person in this role will assist with research studies, experiments, preparation of material, and documentation of findings.

Job Description

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assists with research experiments and assays in context of microbiology and/or host biology.
  • Performs data entry and maintains data files on research.
  • Assists in the preparation of materials required for experiments and maintains meticulous documentation of research findings.
  • Prepares media, reagents, probe tests, etc.
  • Complies with established safety procedures and maintains required documentation on laboratory and specimen conditions.
  • Assists with general supply/equipment orders, lab maintenance and cleaning.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:
  • This position works in a laboratory environment with potential exposure to biological and chemical hazards.Â
  • The individual must be physically able to wear protective equipment and to provide standard care to research animals.

Salary Range $16.92 - $26.44 / Hourly

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
