About the Opportunity

The Civil Engineering team is dedicated to hands-on, practical engineering solutions. Our focus is on actively delivering civil engineering capabilities for a range of complex and highly technical projects in the nuclear and defence sectors. We prioritise applying first principles to understand structural responses under extreme conditions like seismic events, blast loads, and environmental challenges. This role demands a "doer" mentality - someone who engages directly in the design and delivery processes rather than focusing on oversight alone. We are looking for an engineer who is ready to take charge of designs, dive deep into technical challenges, and bring innovative solutions to life. Key Responsibilities:

• Design Development: Prepare and execute civil engineering design packages, including drainage, alignment design, and earthworks. You'll work directly with tools like MicroDrainage for drainage systems and Civil 3D for alignment and earthworks design, creating deliverables that are practical and implementable.
• Direct Project Engagement: Take a hands-on approach to design work, developing and implementing design solutions for service diversions, new services, external works, and retaining wall systems, particularly in complex, congested brownfield environments.
• Technical Execution: Produce civil engineering designs and calculations that meet stringent technical standards, prioritising action-oriented delivery and on-the-ground applicability over abstract review.
• Collaborative Implementation: Work closely with cross-functional teams, fostering strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are aligned with practical objectives and delivered to high standards.
• Safety Leadership: Integrate health and safety principles proactively into all designs, ensuring robust, practical solutions that meet regulatory standards.

Skills and Requirements

• Hands-on experience with MicroDrainage for developing drainage design and Civil 3D for alignment and earthworks, with the ability to create and implement designs directly.
• A track record of developing and delivering civil engineering design outputs.
• Solid foundation in civil engineering principles, with a proactive approach to solving complex structural challenges.
• Accredited MEng degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken, with effective communication skills.
