We offer a hybrid 3-2 work schedule (three days in the office, two days of teleworking) to accommodate the need for flexibility.

Military service members and veterans with ranks from E3-E5, W1-W2, or O1-O3, plus appropriate equivalent combination of education and years of experience as outlined below will be considered for this opportunity.

Job Summary

The position will be filled as either an Environmental Compliance Coordinator or a Sr. Environmental Compliance Coordinator. There is one position which will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. Dominion Energy is looking for an Environmental professional to join its team at Surry Nuclear Power Station in eastern Virginia. Position is allowed remote work up to 2 days per week with remaining days spent onsite at Surry. Work schedules are subject to change due to business needs. The successful candidate will:

• Ensure company compliance with environmental, chemical management, waste management, NPDES water and state air permit regulations at Surry Nuclear Power Station.

• Have responsibility for safe and efficient operation of work site, to comply with regulatory and company standards and procedures.

• Serve as liaison with external and governmental agencies.

• Coordinate with and monitor operations and maintenance personnel, to ensure site compliance with environmental, chemical safety, waste management, and wildlife management rules and regulations.

• Inspect or assess, providing recommendations on compliance issues to management.

• Keep management apprised of site environmental compliance.

• Serves as site coordinator with internal department and external agencies on environmental or chemical management issues at work site(s).

• Procure services or materials for the administration and implementation of environmental programs.

• Create and provide training to site personnel in handling chemicals, oil, and waste materials, or in other procedural requirements.

• Evaluate new regulations and coordinates compliance plan.

• May analyze data and prepare management reports.

• May identify potential environmental risks and recommend corrective measures.

• Coordinate compliance with Dominion's Environmental Management System.

• Provide on-call environmental support to the station as needed.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

Environmental Compliance Coordinator: 2+ years of directly related experience with a preferred Bachelor's degree (Or 4+ years of directly related experience with Associate's degree Or 6+ years of experience with High School Degree / equivalent)

Sr. Environmental Compliance Coordinator: 5+ years of directly related experience with a preferred Bachelor's degree (Or 7+ years of directly related experience with Associate's Degree Or 9+ years of experience with High School Degree / equivalent)

Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications; A master’s degree can count as one year experience

Strong knowledge of related environmental regulations and applicable permits which include NPDES water and Title V air programs.

• Proven ability to develop, implement, and administer complex environmental compliance plans and processes

• Ability to interpret and/or apply environmental requirements to company operations and translate regulatory regulations, permit, and plan requirements into understandable compliance guidance

• Ability to prepare and/or review compliance and regulatory documents and reports

• Strong technical writing, communication, and public relations skills

• Strong data analysis and record keeping skills

• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, to include Word, Excel and Power Point)

• Excellent organizational, time management, and leadership skills

• Ability to work independently and to be self-directed

• Ability to work in field environments

• Ability to manage contract resources

• Ability to diplomatically handle sensitive situations with regulatory agencies, the public, and company personnel at all levels
