Description: The position reports to LSS/Continuous Improvement Leader.
Responsibilities include:
Organizational Support
- Have a servant leadership orientation in order to actively listen and coordinate actions to achieve success
- Provide support for the operational excellence implementation, incorporating critical thinking, reasoning, negotiating, persuading, communicating and decision making
- Must be trustworthy and approachable for all members of the organization to become a collector of feedback, idea generation and course correction
- Need to be passionate and confident about operational excellence and continuous improvement
- Must exhibit humility and strong desire to learn and better yourself through personal excellence & growth
- Support activities to maintain ISO Quality and EHS Certifications
- Support of plant Safety programs
- Support of plant Communication initiatives
- Be flexible with changing tasks based on priorities
Continuous Improvement
- Support training others to use various root cause analysis, problem solving, Lean waste identification and Lean tools
- Support data analysis, trend identification, reporting & feedback
- Interface with internal and external customers
- Identify cost reduction opportunities
- Support the collection and monitor status for all continuous improvement ideas and action items
- Support continuous improvement activities from inception through completion and sustainment follow-up
- Support Lean Rapid Improvement events and larger scale Lean Projects
- Support preparation of report outs to plant leadership
- Support preparation of documentation of soft savings by project and idea and create a submission to division CI team (quarterly)
- Support preparation of documentation of hard savings by HPU analysis of departmental performance and create a submission to division CI team (quarterly)
- Utilize WSBM principles to create a strong Human, Work, CI, and Business System within the plant
- Supporting WSBM teaming initiative
- Help to ensure vision and objectives are clearly communicated to the WSBM teams
Training
- Support training on Continuous Improvement/WSBM in New Hire Orientation
- Making progress toward certifications are required.
The Position Requirements Include:
- 2-4 years of relevant experience and training in CI, Quality, and Business Management required
- Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering preferred
- Green Belt Preferred or ability to obtain in one year
- Must have a strong knowledge of computer applications like MS Word, PowerPoint, Access Database, and Excel.
- Must have working knowledge of ISO 9000 family of international standards.
- Strong and objective analytical skills
- Great communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills are required.
- Ability to work with all levels of the organization.
- Must have exceptional time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
