Materials Technician II - Shipping (1st Shift) - Military Veterans

RESPONSIBILITIES
Howmet Fastening Systems is looking for a Materials Technician II (1st Shift) in our Shipping Department. This position is responsible for picking and processing orders to be shipped according to sales orders.
Responsibilities:
- Pick order from appropriate location in warehouse.
- Using highlighted information on pick list, perform other tasks pertaining to the sales order. This may include, lot number, certificate of conformance, material test reports, country of origin, or special labels needed.
- Check order for accuracy; part number, quantity, special instructions, etc for other operators.
- Package items that were picked in a manner that minimizes the potential for damage in transit.
- Utilize shipping method software, e.g., UPS, FedEx, etc; to process packages to be shipped.
- For orders to be shipped by truck, use Best Shipper program to determine carrier and complete Bill of Lading
- Load trucks
- Ensure that all work activities are performed in accordance with established safety and environmental standards.
- Maintains full compliance and conducts all activities in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Ability to complete training and become certified to process export shipments is preferred.
- Ability to read, write and accurately perform routine math calculations.
- Ability to interact positively with other individuals to function effectively in a team-based environment.
- Ability to operate basic computer systems and programs.
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds repetitively
- Ability to perform tasks accurately and efficiently with little guidance.
- Ability to work in an organized manner to ensure Quality standards are met.
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum one year experience in a distribution or manufacturing warehouse environment
- 1 year of forklift experience
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
- This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
