The Environmental Health and Safety Specialist (EHS) Specialist – Senior supports safety, occupational health, and environmental initiatives across the enterprise. As a representative of the Safety and Security teams, you will become a highly visible and influential partner in colleague and customer safety. You will work with all levels of the company to develop and deliver world-class products or programs to reduce risk due to fire, storms, workplace practices, or other conditions impacting our operations.
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing, supporting, and tracking key safety equipment installation, operation, and maintenance, including AED’s, first aid kits, or similar.
- Developing, delivering, and track training on key EHS topics.
- Track key EHS data in assigned internal databases.
- Performing and tracking site EHS audits.
- Participating in assigned safety committee meetings.
- Developing key facility emergency evacuation plans.
- Perform key facility emergency evacuation drills.
- Manage and track site and/or company safety data sheets (SDS).
- Support initiatives in Crisis Management, Business Continuity, or similar, as assigned.
- Assist with Security initiatives as assigned.
- Manage confidential information concerning departmental activities.
- Develop and manage key operational relationships with Retail, Facilities, Insurance, and other departments within the bank, and with key local agencies, such as fire and EMS, outside of the bank.
- Be available for emergencies, including maintaining communication with key colleagues, teams, departments, or similar.
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- 5 years of safety or environmental management experience in industry, financial services or similar field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Functional knowledge of OSHA, EPA and life-safety codes.
- Working knowledge of MS Office products.
- Clean driving record for 3 years with no DUI convictions.
- Must be able to lift or carry up to 40 lbs.
- Must be able to climb or descend stairs up to 30 floors.
- Experience in building management, maintenance, or engineering may substitute for EHS experience.
- Experience developing and delivering EHS training programs.
- Life-safety audit experience.
- Experience with fire alarm systems.
