Overview

 

The data specialist position is key in data submission and specification review. This person shall report any non conformance of finished product to the QA Supervisor or Manager.

Responsibilities

Collect samples of products or packages and monitor test according to established procedures; test and submit R&D/Customer samples for Food Safety & specification development, as well as for production run approval; monitor processes to ensure they are operating consistently; test and document results for product created in Pilot Plant by R&D; test interplant samples as requested; head committee that identifies formulations with reoccurring problems, examines entire process and gives recommendations to correct issue; review/file COA’s; generate COA’s (as needed) for products per customer request; neatly and precisely document all test results; communicate results immediately to management; conduct and summarize product stabilization test; train fellow associates one on one; assumes role of QA analyst when needed; assist in audit preparation for all internal & external audits.

 

 


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED certificate required. Bachelor's degree preferred (Science)
  • Basic math and science skills 
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions
  • Make and record observations and efficiently organize work tasks and time
  • Written and oral communication skills
  • Be able to work and contribute in a team environment
  • Dependable
  • Understand key ingredient functionally, processing functions and product attributes and micro methods
  • Training and troubleshooting skills

Working Conditions/Environment

Works in a manufacturing environment where the employee is regularly required to speak, read, sit, stand, lift, reach, and bend while moving about the facility. Must be able to stand up to a 8 hour shift (sometimes longer) with regular breaks. The employee is regularly exposed to fumes, odors, dust, oil, slippery floors, moving parts, and equipment. Earplugs, hairnets and steel-toed shoes are required per company and plant GMP and Safety requirements.
