Description: The Department of Applied Engineering Technology ( AET ) invites applications for a tenure track faculty position in Automotive Technology or Automotive Engineering (or related field, starting in August 2025. The appointment is expected to be at the assistant professor level. An appointment at a higher rank may be considered for exceptionally qualified applicants. In particular, the Department is seeking qualified candidates who can develop a collaborative and innovative research program in automotive engineering and technology. The program should align with the Department and the College's interests in Applied Science and Technology.. The hired faculty is expected to show commitment to teaching excellence. She/he is expected to teach Applied Engineering Technology and Automotive/Motorsports Technology courses at the graduate and undergraduate level, develop courses and curricula, direct students in research, and provide service to the University and community. The ideal candidate will develop and maintain a vigorous research program in automotive engineering and technology, secure extramural funding, and direct the research activities of MS students in the Technology Management program and PhD students in the Applied Science and Technology program. Mentoring undergraduate research students is also expected as Applied Engineering Technology majors in the department follow a curriculum where students are encouraged to research. A candidate whose teaching and research efforts will promote the mission of the Applied Engineering Technology Department and the strategic vision of the College of Science and Technology ( COST ) as well as the University is highly desired. Collaboration with colleagues from the sciences, mathematics, and other technology areas is expected. Service to the Department, the College and the University is also a requirement of the position.
