Job DescriptionWinona State University is seeking a pool of qualified applicants for part-time coaching positions. Candidates are reviewed and positions are filled on an as needed basis.The Winona State University Athletic Department sports programs include:Division II BaseballBasketball ? Men?sBasketball ? Women?sSoccerSoftballTennisTrack FieldNational Collegiate Gymnastics AssociationGymnasticsAssistant CoachAssist in operating all aspects of the intercollegiate program within the guidelines, policies, rules and regulations of the University, NCAA and NSIC.Assist in the identification, evaluation, recruitment, and retention of quality student-athletes.Assist with fundraising activities.Contribute to student growth and development.Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.Other duties as assigned in the Athletic Department as needed.Head CoachLead all aspects of the intercollegiate program within the guidelines, policies, rules and regulations of the University, NCAA and NSIC.Lead the identification, evaluation, recruitment, and retention of quality student-athletes.Lead fundraising activities.Contribute to student growth and development.Support Winona State University's mission to enhance the intellectual, social, cultural, and economic vitality of the people and communities we serve.Other duties as assigned in the Athletic Department as needed.Minimum QualificationsBachelor?s degree at time of appointment.Minimum of (2) years of demonstrated success as a coach/teacher.Completion of a criminal background check when required in accordance with WSU Policy 5-17.Preferred QualificationMaster?s degree or desire to obtain.NCAA Collegiate coaching experience.Knowledge of Midwest recruiting base.Knowledge of NCAA rules regulations.Other RequirementsThe applicant should demonstrate a knowledge of and interest in diverse cultures and populations.All applicants must be able to lawfully accept employment in the United States at the time of an offer of employment.In accordance with Minnesota State HR guideline FSR0008, WSU will conduct a criminal background check on finalists for all positions that work with minors in campus sponsored camps or special programs.
