Responsibilities
Byers Engineering, a MasTec company, is seeking a full time Outside Plant Fielder in support of a large-scale Telecommunications project.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- OSP Fielder will complete site visits within given market
- Take legible field notes for the design of construction drawings in aerial, buried, underground, and building applications
- Analyze work site and design requests then determine scope of work to be completed
- Deliver projects within timeline and ensure quality of work completed
- Pay attention to detail and communicate any concerns or updates with the OSP Designer
- Interact with internal and external customers- represent Byers and our client in a professional manner
- Adhere to all company safety practices and policies
Desired Skills:
- Understanding of Telecom, Fiber, and Outside Plant required
- Relevant experience with utilities, cabling, or construction also considered
- Excellent communication for daily interaction with various teams
- Above average penmanship for hand-drawn field notes
- Knowledge of computer programs (Excel, Word, Power Point, and Dropbox)
- High school diploma and completed courses from technical school or community college preferred, but not required
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Qualify on pre-employment screening, including non-negligent driving record
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required
- Willing to be trained and adapt to changing industry trends- continue education for Engineering design and best practices
- Work schedule to match hours of our customer and meet deadlines
- Requires outdoor site visits in various weather conditions + remote work
- Dress appropriately and meet safety standards while on-site
