Overview of the Program
EnerSys Advanced Systems (EAS) is a specialty division of EnerSys (EnerSys is the global leader in stored energy solutions for industrial applications). EAS specializes in energy solutions for aerospace/defense and medical industries. (https://www.enersys.com/en/industries/aerospace-defense/). We are growing and looking for individuals that share a common interest in the aerospace/defense/medical industry and want to work in this exciting environment. The purpose of this internship is to provide transitioning military service members with the knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to begin full time employment as an Environmental Lab Test Technician. Interns will participate in a comprehensive 120 day training program onsite in Pinellas Park, FL.
Training Specifics
On the Job Training: The training program is designed to provide interns with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to transition into full time employment with EnerSys. Interns will receive a combination of hands on, on-site training as well as classroom style and computer based training. Interns who demonstrate satisfactory completion of training objectives and receive positive performance reviews can expect to be offered full time employment at one of EnerSys’s facilities as a Environmental Lab Test Technician. Training objectives include:
· Thermal Battery Static Testing: Test thermal batteries and assemblies following methods, procedures, standards and sequences.
· Records Management: Maintain test records and data according to procedures and engineering requirements.
· Environmental Test Setup: Lay out and assemble product and electronic equipment according to designs and specifications.
· Environmental Equipment Knowledge: Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, test and maintain equipment, components, devices and systems.
· Environmental Equipment Knowledge: Modify product and electronic equipment by adding, removing or altering components as defined by predetermined diagrams, sketches and procedures.
· Environmental Equipment Knowledge: Correct malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components
Professional Development: To enable all candidates to have long term, successful post-military careers, RecruitMilitary provides employment skill training and professional development coaching for all participating interns. This portion of the program includes participation in professional development seminars, close work with assigned mentors and practical applications to ensure all interns are armed with the requisite knowledge skills and abilities to develop and manage a successful civilian career after military service. Developmental topics include:
· Creating resumes targeted to specific opportunities in specific fields of employment.
· Leveraging social media to effectively network in the digital environment for career success.
· Development of a coherent personal brand to effectively market the intern to potential employers.
· Use of digital and online tools for targeted job searches and networking.
· Development of skills necessary to secure, prepare for and succeed at job interviews and subsequent salary negotiations.
Facilities Maintenance Technician Key Responsibilities
· Test thermal batteries and assemblies following methods, procedures, standards and sequences.
· Maintain test records and data according to procedures and engineering requirements.
· Lay out and assemble product and electronic equipment according to designs and specifications.
· Constructs, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, tests and maintains equipment, components, devices and systems.
· Modify product and electronic equipment by adding, removing or altering components as defined by predetermined diagrams, sketches and procedures.
· Correct malfunctions by making adjustments or replacing parts or components.
· Use hand and small power tools and various measuring and testing devices.
· Monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control devices.
· Communicate well with members of engineering department and plant personnel.
· Familiarity with LabVIEW and dynamic/climatic test system software.
Skills, Requirements, & Qualifications
Required:
· Must be a current Active Duty Servicemember eligible for DOD SkillBridge opportunities in accordance with DODI 1323.29.
· Must be separating from the Military in 4-12 months
· Must be able to complete a 120 day internship
· Must be able to complete 40 hours per week
· Willingness to learn from others on the job
IV. Work Environment
This position requires working in a plant/warehouse environment. Therefore, expect varying working conditions.
V. Attendance:
• Time Off must be requested in advance.
• Interns are not obligated to work in excess of 40 hours per week.
• Interns are required to attend all scheduled training, professional development, and mentorship sessions.
• Interns with excessive or unexcused absences may be subject to termination at the discretion of the employer and/or RecruitMilitary Program Manager.
• The employer may terminate the intern at any time for failing to demonstrate progressive achievement of training objectives as well as violation of company policy to include but not limited to safety standards, personal conduct and drug free workplace.
• RecruitMilitary will provide recurring attendance reports to the servicemember’s parent command of all participating servicemembers.
• RecruitMilitary will advise the intern’s command that the intern is approaching their end date one week prior to the scheduled end date.
• RecruitMilitary will advise the intern’s command immediately if they have been terminated for cause.
