Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Associate, Business Services, Home Health Care, Garden City location.

In this role, the successful candidate Performs clerical and support activities necessary to provide aide coordination and scheduling Serves as a communication resource and facilitates transfer of information both internally and externally Assists with nursing and administrative staff to meet agency and institutional goals and other goals as assigned Direct Reports: Director of Patient Services

Job Responsibilities:

  • Answers telephone calls screens and directs them appropriately Contact vendors to request aides according to aide care plan Completes staff aide assignments weekly in an organized efficient manner Revises as needed Conveys schedule to aides Notifies patient family and staff of changes in aide personnel Records aides absence lateness changes and problems Advises RN
  • Contacts the appropriate department to arrange for installation/repair of related equipment
  • Writes legibly Utilizes technology to improve services processes and productivity
  • Identifies patient satisfaction/dissatisfaction If patient expresses dissatisfaction implements conflict resolution skills and escalates issues through proper chain of command Maintains patient confidentiality within organizational guidelines Responds to inquiries from staff patients or family in a polite friendly courteous and informative manner Accurately reports pertinent patient information or problems to Staff Manager or Designee Responds in a timely manner to organizational information requests Communicates effectively on the phone and in person
  • Orders ambulance ambulette and taxi transportation as needed
  • May receive staff per visit RN and SW vouchers and notes Reviews dates for consistency
  • Utilizes technology to improve services processes and productivity Receives aide day sheets invoices and corresponding service reports scans for discrepancies prepares for billing
  • Performs routine maintenance Changes printing elements loads paper etc for related equipment
  • Defends and preserves the rights of patients relative to all aspects of care information knowledge and privacy Demonstrates respect for cultures and cultural diversity with co workers and other health care team members patients and families Recognizes the family as defined by the patient
  • Participates in Agency compliance with regulatory requirements Completes assignments in an organized efficient manner Supports and complies with all departmental and hospital policies and procedures Demonstrates the principles of team building and communication Demonstrates an ability to set priorities Accountable for scheduling self to attend all mandatory in services and annual updates including Fire Safety Infection Control Hazardous Material Patient Bill of Rights Willingly assumes other duties or tasks as assigned Consistently responds to patient family and staff needs in a timely fashion Defends and preserves the rights of patients relative to all aspects of care information knowledge and privacy Demonstrates respect for cultures and cultural diversity with co workers and other health care team members patients and families Recognizes the family as defined by the patient Identifies patient satisfaction/dissatisfaction If patient expresses dissatisfaction implements conflict resolution skills and escalates issues through proper chain of command
  • Is punctual and available for work Maintains own educations and health records in accordance with hospital policy Utilizes proper body mechanics when moving equipment Obtains assistance when necessary
  • Routinely supports co workers in the accomplishment of day to day activities and tasks necessary for meeting patient and family needs Participates in the orientation of new employees Contributes to own professional development by timely participation in employee evaluation Actions demonstrate the ability to work effectively and harmoniously with all members of the team Attends Agency based in services as scheduled Attends and actively participates in Department meetings and/or obtains information presented Initiates and/or participates in own evaluation and sets measurable and realistic goals for performance
  • Ensures each trip completed is mailed or faxed to the Nassau County Department of Social Services on a timely basis Handles outgoing correspondence sorts and distributes incoming and outgoing mail on a timely basis Orders patient supplies equipment and lab work as indicated by nurse Brings problems or relevant information to RN s attention Maintains office supplies prepares general stores and purchase orders researches delays Assists as needed in filing information into patient records Works to ensure Unit compliance with approved budget for clerical supplies Distributes all lab results to appropriate staff Keeps records of supplies equipment labs appliances and transportation provided to each patient Completes payroll log every other week makes copies and forwards originals to the Payroll Dept Receives logs and distributes nbsp;
  • Performs other related departmental duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a High School or GED 1 2 years Business or Healthcare facility experience Excellent communication skills both oral written interpersonal and organizational skills Proficient computer skills Knowledge of Medical Terminology

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $39,878.31 - $55,621.73 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
