Position Summary

Sacramento In-Person - CA Legislature Legal Reporting

Looking for an opportunity to support the legal community of CA state? Join our team as a Part-Time legal news writer BASED IN SACRAMENTO, CA . Spend 5 - 15 hours a week sourcing content, writing articles and researching changes in the legal field for CA. The ideal candidate will in-person in Sacramento attending hearings or meeting with legislative officials to write and research content for Legal News articles and current affairs.

Salary & Compensation

Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

  • Legal Journalism Experience or familiarity with the legal landscape (Preferred)
  • Strong writing and interpersonal communication skills (Required)
  • Ability to prioritize and work on deadline (Required)
  • Knowledge of legal technologies and changing privacy rules with artificial intelligence (AI) (Preferred)
  • Ability to report on timely legislative changes from the state capital in Sacramento (Preferred)

  • Bachelor's Degree Bachelor's degree in related area (e.g. Journalism) and / or equivalent experience / training (Required)
