Field Development Director - Military Veterans

The Field Development Director is pivotal in driving the growth and development of our market leaders through personalized 1:1 development meetings, strategic coaching, and targeted training. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of financial services and new advisor development, strong coaching skills, and influence training material. This role will serve as a liaison between leaders and field learning to support the advisor training and leader development material. The Field Development Director will serve alongside a group vice president with a lateral focus on development for advisors. This role will span across geography providing virtual and onsite coaching for leaders.

The Field Development Director can be located anywhere in the US.

Developing and Training Field Leaders (Specifically Developers)

  • Conduct regular, structured 1:1 meetings with leaders to assess their development needs. Provide mentorship and coaching to support their progress on those needs.
  • Travel to local markets to spend face to face time with leaders to showcase skills and deliver training as needed.
  • Provide actionable feedback and create individualized development plans to support career progression and skill enhancement.
  • Monitor and track the progress of development plans, adjusting strategies as necessary to ensure goals are met.
  • Work alongside the local Market or Group Vice Presidents to share feedback on progress and where additional support is needed.
  • Provide consistent communication to leaders on progress and gaps to growth.
  • Utilize various coaching methodologies and tools to address leadership challenges and support career growth.

Liaison for Field Training

  • Partner with Field Learning and local leaders to align development initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with sr. training specialists to integrate best practices and create a cohesive learning strategy.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in the development and delivery of updated field training programs.
  • Use data to identify trends, gaps, and areas for improvement in employee development and training programs.

Collaborate with Others:

  • Build strong relationships with leaders across the organization, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Leverage matrix partners to stay informed of best practices or changes that directly impact new FA launch.
  • Work closely with market and corporate leaders to develop material and training to support launch through teams and future team leaders.
  • Serve and a key leader with GVPs to support talent development of current leader bench.
  • Engage the market directors, market developers, and advisors by providing opportunities for learning, development, and connections to build up confidence, competence, and culture.
  • Supports the development of a healthy culture within the markets, supporting strong market results and ensuring a culture of excellence in the team.
  • Ensure collaboration with matrix partners and market directors to support new advisors.
  • Recruits, develops, and sustains a high-performing team while promoting a culture of shared accountability, operational excellence, and partnership across the organization.

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Required:

  • Four-year college degree strongly preferred.
  • 3+ Years in the financial service industry leading leaders that drive results.
  • Licensing:
    • FINRA Series 7, 63/65 or 66 required or obtained within 90 days.
    • State insurance licensed and appointed in life, health and variable lines of authority or attained within 90 days.
    • State securities registered and insurance licensed and appointed in all states that comprise the market or are aligned to specific FAs that are assigned.
  • Demonstrated track record of solid sales results (i.e. L/H/A, investments, etc.) and alignment to providing clients wholistic, purpose-based advice.
  • Experience in leading groups, specifically in presenting and facilitating to drive understanding of concepts and practices that lead to new FA success.
  • Professional designation or history of significant progress toward achievement preferred.
  • Experience in using the Thrivent Financial Advice Process, Salesforce and other Thrivent tools and systems and ability and willingness to model, promote and demonstrate usage of tools as needed.
  • Ability to utilize technology effectively to coach and train Market Developers who work with FAs.
  • Will and skill to commit to joint field work expectations.
  • Satisfactory background check and clean compliance record.
  • Flexibility to travel within the region (may include overnight), up to 50%, and conduct business during evening hours and must have own transportation.

Pay Transparency: Thrivents long-term growth depends on attracting, rewarding, and retaining people who are committed to helping others thrive with purpose. Compensation for this role is based on base, bonus and incentives.The applicable base range for this full-time role is$107,125 - $144,933per year which will be determined by a several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and knowledge, business needs, market demand, and other relevant factors.
