Under the supervision of the Education Manager, the Program Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination and management of the of ACGME Psychiatry fellowships and residency programs and help to support academic affairs for affiliated faculty within the Department of Psychiatry and Human Behavior. The Program Coordinator provides professional, analytical and administrative support for department medical education trainees. Involves designing, conducting, promoting, evaluating and supporting health professions education programs in compliance with organizational objectives and nationally accepted accreditation standards and requirements. Supports learners (including but not limited to faculty, residents, clinical fellows, graduate or undergraduate learners, practicing or licensed professionals) in areas such as curriculum, teaching and learning activities, scheduling, core competencies, assessment and evaluations. Contributes to positive team goals and coordination improvement and will serve as a program liaison with the GME office and various other agencies, organizations, and groups. Applies acquired skills, process, and policy knowledge to support professional health education program learners. Coordinates program operations, which include teaching and learning activities, program records, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation. This position necessitates strong, independent judgment, problem-solving and organizational skills. A demonstrated proficiency in the independent preparation, transcription and updating of trainee curriculum, as well as coordinating the weekly didactic sessions is required.

Your Role on the Team

Applies acquired skills, process, and policy knowledge to support professional health education program learners. Coordinates program operations, which include teaching and learning activities, program curriculum, learner scheduling, maintaining databases, tracking learner compliance, and program accreditation.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required:

  • Basic knowledge of administrative analysis and operations research. Acquiring skills in developing and implementing processes and systems. Familiarity with the administrative and operational implications in a program.
  • Communication skills; includes verbal, written and active listening. Service oriented and responsive to questions and requests. Ability to interact in a professional, resourceful, and courteous manner.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills. Demonstrated ability to develop working relationships within department and with learners.
  • Excellent organizational skills, analytical, and demonstrated attention to detail. Ability to work with extremely complex faculty calendars / schedules requires extremely well organized and detail oriented precision.
  • Knowledge of educational technology and systems. Ability to troubleshoot and triages related technology issues.
  • Investigative, data analysis, and reporting skills. Ability to generate computer reports, checking for errors, correcting and submitting accurate reports. Skills include entering, maintaining, extracting, and analyzing data in electronic systems.
  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training


Preferred:
  • Basic knowledge of relevant policies and regulatory requirements. Basic knowledge of health professions education industry.
  • Knowledge of University Medical Education processes
  • Knowledge of University Graduate Medical Education processes
