Hyster-Yale Materials Handling, Inc, a world-class manufacturer of industrial lift trucks, has an outstanding opportunity for an exceptional and talented Aftersales Analytics Manager based at our Greenville Headquarters office. 

The successful Aftersales Analytics Manager will manage a team of full and part-time analysts that work with IT and Data Engineering groups to bring together global data from various systems and sources. This data will be used to develop algorithms and models to analyze vast amounts of complex data.  To deliver high-quality data analysis and analytical solutions that support business objectives.  Collaborate with other Aftermarket Solutions stakeholders to identify potential opportunities to improve customer and internal cost savings.  Write complex queries and/or development of complex databases in various software/languages. Must be able to synthesize data across multiple sources and be able to tell a story with the data.  Contribute to the development of cross-functional and cross-company consultative analytic projects through development and validation of predictive models.  Additionally, this position is responsible for proliferation of knowledge of systems and data analysis to the rest of the Aftersales team with the goal of enabling better “citizen analysts” enabling the ability for self-service insight and action identification.

What you will do:

Develop and Manage Staff:

  • Direct/coach staff work activities.
  • Troubleshoot and facilitate.
  • Support development of educational curriculum and career plans
  • Project Management (including Ad-hoc analyses)
  • Ensure staff (full-time and part-time) know why, when, what, who and how. 
  • Enhance staff performance to meet group/team commitments. 

Project Management:

  • Manage the definition, prioritization (cost/benefit) and deployment of analytics to drive business results.
  • Report to Aftersales Management about prioritization, progress and needed resources to meet business needs. 
  • Maintain implementation documentation and facilitate the setup, training, and ensure internal customer orientation is conducted in a timely and quality fashion. 
  • Manage relationships and projects with 3rd party vendors to deploy analytics solutions including Machine Learning, Data Lake, and AI solutions.
  • Serve as data focused stakeholder for new Aftersales solutions.
  • Liaison with Digital Platforms and IT for data solutions projects.

Statistical Analysis:

  • Evaluate internal and external (3rd Party) sources of analysis to determine the optimal approach for the business problem being solved.
  • Write algorithms needed to provide internal and external stakeholders with Predictive analytics.
  • Develop data analysis to guide customers in decisions and clearly define the value\savings offered by targeted department. Provide actionable analyses through complex written queries. Perform in depth analyses which support overall targeted customer requirements.
  • Provide internal resources with continual improvement suggestions based on in depth analysis of cost avoidance or cost reduction areas.

Internal Customer Engagement:

  • Collaborate on analysis needed to achieve activity-based program needs and communicate findings surrounding emerging customer issues.
  • Partner with various functions across the Aftersales organization and more broadly across HYMN.
  • Build further solution set functions as needed to support the business.
  • Train Aftersales team members on analytical best practices and implemented solutions.

  • The individual must be extremely reliable, must possess excellent project management skills and must be able to effectively communicate with all levels of management.

What you will need: 

  • BS Degree in Business, Statistics, Analytics, Accounting, Finance, Physical Sciences, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field. 
  • Masters Degree Preferred.
  • Seven (7) or more years of relative experience in Aftersales, Accounting, Finance or MIS area or advanced degree with Three (3) or more years of experience.

Skills, Experience & Abilities       

  • Database development/maintenance and/or query creation (including SQL), required.
  • Strong PC skills.
  • Statistical analysis software experience: Power BI, Minitab, SAS or other, preferred.
  • Familiarity with programming languages R or Python, preferred.
  • Advanced level in Access, and Excel required.
  • Experience with construction and interpretation of linear regression models for predictive analytics, preferred.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving/analytical and mathematical skills
  • Experience with AWS/Azure/Cloud Computing and predictive models a plus
