Job Summary
The Service Writer works under close supervision of the Branch Parts and Service Manager and is responsible for preparing parts and service quotes.
Essential Functions
Opens quotes and completes all necessary paperwork for quote presentation to CSS.
Communicates customer quote requests to CSS and Service Manager
Organizes customer damage quotes for the Branch and Service Manager
Communicates job progress to Branch & Service Manager
Projects professionalism with both internal and external customers, including personal appearance
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
More than two years of work related experience in a service writer role preferred
Knowledge of Rental and Service Industry
General knowledge of mechanical/technical terminology
Knowledge and proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and common dealership computer systems
Must have an outgoing, friendly personality, superior communication, and customer exceptional skills in customer service
Excellent time management and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Ability to read, write, and understand information
Ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships
Typical Physical Activity
While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to occasionally lift 75 pounds from floor to chest; reach and use the arms with a full range of motion; endure prolonged standing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and squatting while performing mechanical operations; exert push and pull forces with the arms in order to use various wrenches and tools; endure prolonged forward and overhead arm positions while performing mechanical operations; use hands to grasp hand tools and parts and climb onto and operate equipment.
Typical Environmental Conditions
Employee regularly works indoors around moving mechanical parts. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to small quantities of chemicals, dust, steam, high-pressure water, and high speed rotating equipment. Requires wearing common protective or safety equipment. Required to perform work in cramped spaces and/or high places.
