Facility Security Officer, Senior - Military Veterans

Responsible for managing and executing all security requirements for the EDAT program, a critical initiative for the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). This role ensures full compliance with contract and corporate security requirements and provides oversight of personnel and program security processes. The FSO will serve as the primary security point of contact, manage security documentation, support security inspections, and oversee classified document control functions. The ideal candidate will also develop and implement security training, maintain security databases, and ensure compliance with OPSEC and other regulatory requirements.


Responsibilities

  • Ensure the EDAT program complies with all security requirements outlined in contracts, corporate policies, and regulations, including DD254.
  • Provide oversight and management to subcontractors through the DD254 or other contractual methods, ensuring adherence to security protocols.
  • Personnel Security Management:
  • Manage personnel security clearance processes, including program access requests, security clearance applications, and monitoring personnel indoctrination and debriefing agreements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the customer’s security office, providing updates and guidance on personnel security actions.
  • Maintain and provide status updates on issued security badges and CACs (Deliverable 13).
  • Security Documentation & Compliance:
  • Maintain comprehensive security documentation for the program, ensuring accuracy and compliance with all regulations.
  • Provide guidance on program execution to ensure it complies with DD254 security requirements.
  • Perform classified document control functions, including inventories of classified materials and ensuring proper safeguarding and storage of classified information.
  • Training & Security Briefings:
  • Create, update, and administer security indoctrinations, refresher briefings, and debriefings for program personnel.
  • Ensure all staff complete Level I OPSEC Awareness training and other mandatory security training in accordance with the EDATS OPSEC Plan.
  • Security Inspections & Audits:
  • Support security inspections, audits, and assessments to ensure compliance with program security requirements.
  • Conduct end-of-day security checks, secure classified materials, and ensure the proper safeguarding of classified information and materials.
  • Physical Security & Facility Management:
  • Manage physical security tasks, such as opening and closing security containers, arming/de-arming USSOCOM/U.S. Government buildings, secure rooms, or SCIFs.
  • Provide escort services for contractor personnel who do not have access to designated government buildings or secure areas, as needed.
  • Database & Record Management:
  • Maintain and utilize security-related databases to monitor personnel clearances, indoctrinations, and classified document controls.
  • Maintain a contractor IA/IT status list and ensure accurate records are kept for program security compliance.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Facility Security Officer (FSO) or similar role, with hands-on experience in managing security for government contracts.
  • Familiarity with managing DD254 requirements and implementing security policies for classified government programs.
  • Experience with U.S. government security regulations, including ITAR, NISPOM, and OPSEC.
  • Experience working within the Department of Defense or other government security environments is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of personnel security clearance processes and classified document management.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact with government security officers, internal teams, and subcontractors.
  • Proficiency with security-related databases and tools for maintaining personnel and document control records.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage multiple security-related tasks
