Education Requirements:
Requires a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering or Mathematics field. Also requires 2+ years of job-related experience or a Master's degree.
Clearance Requirements:
Ability to obtain a Department of Defense Secret security clearance is required at time of hire. Applicants selected will be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
Responsibilities for this Position
ROLE AND POSITION OBJECTIVES:
General Dynamics Mission Systems has an immediate opening for Digital Design Engineer within the Land and Air Systems, Engineering Team. This position provides an opportunity to design and build uniquely resilient hardware and software to ensure mission success in contested environments. You will be a member of a multi-discipline team that spans many Department of Defense customers, including special restricted customers. In a collaborative environment, the team works closely with esteemed customers to develop solutions that allow them to carry out high-stakes national security missions.
The Digital Design Engineer will:
- Exercise creative thinking and ideation to advance our business performance.
- Deliver innovative, flexible, integrated solutions to meet customers changing business needs.
- Support and engage in programs, projects and practices behind the GDMS culture and strategy, and comply with all policies and procedures.
- Follow industry and department trends and developments to ensure GDMS services are consistent with, and/or superior to, industry best practices.
Experience:
- Experience with schematic capture
- Experience designing multi-layer Printed Circuit Boards
- Able to analyze and test for signal integrity, crosstalk, etc.
- Familiar with differentl families of Micro Processors, Micro Controllers, FPGAs and System-on-Chips
- Demonstrates initiative on assignments, exercises strong independent judgment
- Able to technically lead/mentor less senior engineers
Preferred Experience:
- Preferred experience with Mentor design tools
- Xilinx SOC

USD $95,384.20 - USD $105,816.80 /Yr.
