About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Control Management Officer to join the Small & Business Banking Control Team.
The Small & Business Banking Control team with oversight for Small Business Relationship Banking (SBRB) and Sales Execution is responsible for partnering with the business to identify, assess, manage and mitigate current and emerging risk exposures associated with their processes.
Leveraging robust risk management acumen, we support the business through execution of core responsibilities in the business Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA), engaging in the design and implementation of risk mitigation activities/strategies through Issue Management and evaluation of readiness and control plans (RACP), while also caring for the customer experience.
The Lead Control Management Officer proactively engages with business process owners and stakeholders to understand risks associated with various business process, to evaluate effectiveness of controls and self-assurance activities, and to engage in designing/developing/augmenting business controls, while keeping small business customers and the bankers who develop and manage customer relationships at the center of focus.
In this role, you will:
- Establish and develop partnerships with business leaders from the line of business to advise and influence strategic decision-making related to sustainable resolution of highly complex issues
- Facilitate end-to-end issue management by providing risk management and business subject matter expertise and coordinate with the business to self-identify issues, develop corrective actions, document applicable controls in accordance with enterprise standards, and coordinate the issue closure process.
- Lead Business Control Management team's Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) activities for complex RAUs
- Lead complex initiatives designed to mitigate current and emerging risks with broad impact
- Act as key participant in monitoring, evaluating, and measuring the impact of decisions practiced in Control Management
- Monitor moderately complex business specific programs, and provide risk management consulting to support the business in designing and implementing risk-mitigation strategies
- Monitor, measure, evaluate, and report on the impact of decisions and controls to the relevant business group
- Develop and implement risk monitoring and risk reporting processes and controls
- Lead Control Management project or virtual teams
Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of Risk Management or Control Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
- Strong Experience with Risk and Control Self-Assessment (RCSA)
- Strong experience with Issues Management, including design of controls and managing corrective actions
- Experience with Small Business and/or Middle Market Banking relationship management
- Ability to grasp complex business issues quickly, recommend solutions, and drive for resolutions
- Strong understanding of policies, procedures, and programs to ensure appropriate and effective risk mitigation controls are in place.
- Ability to work independently in a virtual team environment where other team members, team management, and business partners are in multiple locations
- Ability to take on a high level of responsibility, initiative, and accountability
- Strong ability to communicate effectively, in both written and verbal formats, with senior executive-level leaders
- Ability to develop partnerships and collaborate with other business and functional areas
- Ability to provide leadership to a matrixed organization environment
- Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint) skills
Job Expectations:
- The selected candidate must be located in one of the listed work locations; this position is expected to work on site 3 or more days per week per Wells Fargo's standard operating model.
Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location. The range listed is just one component of the compensation package offered to candidates.
$111,100.00 - $197,500.00
