Candidates for tenured positions must demonstrate a track record of industry/government/academic collaborations. Develop and sustain nationally and internationally recognized, externally funded research programs as evidenced by high-quality publications. Successful mentoring of students, innovation and entrepreneurship activities. Contribute to teaching and curriculum development at both the graduate and undergraduate levels. Participate in selected University initiatives. Minimum Experience / Education: UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline. Preferred Education Skills and Experience: Ph.D. degree in a computer science or computer engineering or another closely related field Have a background aligning with one of the listed research foci. Prefer the candidates with foundational, use-inspired, and/or transdisciplinary research interests in: New Models of Computing, experimental quantum computing and applications, Cloud & Edge Computing, IT & Cyber-physical infrastructure, data centers, secure smart environments, Generative AI, computer vision, NPL , machine learning, trust and applications. Software engineering, auto-coding, dependability, autonomy, application specific architectures, Human centered computing ( HCC ), UX, human-AI collaboration & co-creation, educational uses of computers, CS Education Research, societal impacts, Security, privacy, resiliency, trustworthiness and identity management.
