Position Number: 009676 Department: Facilities Management (Adm) Employment Type: Permanent - Full-time Months Per Year: 12 Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The FM Tech Mechanical Trades performs under the direction of the Maintenance Operations HVAC Supervisor. Duties include but are not limited to: Responsible for performing routine maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate. Gain knowledge with electrical test devices to troubleshoot and repair HVAC electrical circuits. Assist in diagnosing mechanical problems and determine how to correct them by checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs as necessary. Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, wrenches and electrical testing devices. E.P.A. 608 Refrigerant certification preferred. Minimum Experience / Education: Required Minimum Qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position's role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. University Preferred Qualifications: Graduation from high school or equivalent. Experience in the trade(s) areas related to the position's role may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Preferred Education Skills and Experience: High school diploma or GED equivalency. Associates degree from an accredited institution in the HVAC field Experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and refrigeration equipment. Selected candidate must have the mental and physical capabilities to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations. Ability to effectively communicate the English language (reading, writing, interpretation, and comprehension) required. Effective skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication. Computer literate. Knowledge and skill with Google Chrome, Microsoft Word, and Excel, and willingness to learn new programs. Ability to effectively work/interact with persons from different backgrounds. Ability to foster and create an atmosphere of teamwork. The ability to perform routine maintenance of HVAC and refrigeration equipment to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and/or the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
