Lecturer of Native American Studies, 2024-2025 Position Overview: A reasonable estimate for this position is $68,247 - $74,577 The Native American Studies Department at the University of California at Davis welcomes applications for two or more courses in the Winter and Spring quarters of 2025. Candidates should be prepared for in-person teaching. Courses to be filled include, but are not limited to, the following. Dates of quarters: Winter quarter (Jan 3 - Mar 21, 2025) Spring quarter (Mar 27 - Jun 12, 2025) Our elective curriculum is flexible. Upper division courses that could be filled: NAS 005 - Introduction to Native American Literature NAS 116 - Native American Traditional Governments NAS 117 - Native American Governmental Decision Making NAS 118 - Native American Politics NAS 119 - Federal Indian Law NAS 122 - Native American Community Development NAS 133b - Ethnohistory of Mexico and Central America (soon to be renamed Indigenous Mesoamerica) NAS 134 - Race, Culture, & Nation NAS 146- Orientation to Research in Native American Studies NAS 157 - Native American Religion and Philosophy NAS 161 - CA Indian Environmental Policy NAS 180 - Native American Women NAS 191 - Topics in Native American Studies. This can include other contemporary topics, especially courses that teach in a hemispheric perspective and/or focus on Indigenous issues in Canada, Pacific Islands, or Latin America. A Ph.D. is preferred, but we welcome candidates who are ABD or hold an M.A. degree in a related field and who have previous experience teaching at the college/university level.
