Position Description Organization: UW Division of Cardiology, Department of Medicine Title: UW Faculty Teaching Associate, Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Position Overview: We are seeking a highly reliable and flexible Advanced Practice Provider (APP) with proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment for our Inpatient Acute Care Services (serves General Cardiology, Structural and Interventional Cardiology, Electrophysiology and Advanced Heart Failure and Post-Heart Transplant services) - Anticipated start date is March 1, 2024. Position Details: Full-time (100% FTE), Inpatient Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) or Physician Assistant (PA-C), 7 day/week coverage, 10- to 12-hour shifts. UW Montlake or Northwest Campus, One-year, 12-month appointment, renewable annually. Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. University of Washington faculty engage in teaching, research and service. The base salary range for this position will be $9,167 - $14,334 per month ($110,004 - $172,008 per year), commensurate with years of experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Temporary Pay Supplements or Administrative Supplement. Reporting Structure: Cardiology Senior Lead APP, Service Director of Cardiology Job Duties and Responsibilities: Collaborate with an inter-professional team including APPs, cardiologists, fellows and residents to provide high quality and safe, patient- and family-centered care in a premier institution Provide a full spectrum of independent as well as collaborative direct patient care to adult Cardiology patients in the inpatient setting (including advanced heart failure and heart transplant, structural and interventional, electrophysiology, and general cardiology patients) Collaborate with inpatient consultants Participate in quality improvement projects and process improvement activities Participate in and support the Division's education, research and quality initiatives Provide education and mentorship to fellow team members, staff, residents, fellows, nurses and students alike Attend weekly Cardiology Grand Rounds and clinical case conferences and quarterly faculty meetings Be well versed in UWMC CPOE/EPIC Follow UWMC Professional Behavior Policy and Procedures Perform other related duties as required Benefits: Salary dependent on experience Excellent UW benefits including 401K 4 weeks vacation 1 week CME (CME funding contingent upon participation in selected Faculty Education efforts) Qualifications Required Qualifications: Graduate Degree from and accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Program, or foreign equivalent Current and valid state Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nursing Licensure for ARNP or Physician Assistant licensure for PA-C Nationally certified ARNP/PA with DEA Highly reliable, flexible provider with proven excellence working in an interdisciplinary collaborative team environment Effective interpersonal skills, leadership skills, and clinical expertise in the care of cardiology patients Basic computer knowledge and command of basic personal computer skills Ideal Qualifications: Advanced Practice Provider training and experience in inpatient cardiology and/or critical care management ACLS Certification Instructions Candidates, please submit your application via Interfolio with cover letter, CV, and contact information for three professional references and a statement of past and planned contributions to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
