Do Great Things! Durham Technical Community College is hiring an adjunct instructor in the Welding Technology Program. The Welding Instructor is responsible for teaching courses in the Welding program and working with the Director of Welding and other departmental faculty to plan, implement, coordinate, and evaluate instruction. Teach all courses, as assigned, for the full duration of scheduled instruction Be fully prepared with a syllabus and instructional plans for each class session in accord with the stated objectives of the course Enforce academic policy and procedures at all times, and comply with institutional rules and regulations Maintain complete course and student records, reports, and forms Stay current with developments in the field of instruction Assume other necessary responsibilities and perform additional tasks as assigned by the chair, department dean, chief instructional officer, or president, in meeting the needs of the department, division, and college Assume responsibility for laboratory/classroom preparation, including maintenance and cleanup, and recommend, as necessary, appropriate laboratory supplies and equipment Complete all mandatory trainings A curriculum certificate in Welding Technology or a related field is preferred Work Experience: One year of relevant work experience is required Preferred Experience: 2 years of applicable teaching/training experience in industry, secondary, or post-secondary settings is preferred. Applicable AWS (American Welding Society) certification(s) is preferred.
