Job Summary:
UK Healthcare is seeking a Grossing Technologist to serve as a Pathologist extender in the surgical pathology gross room.
Duties include but are not limited to: case accessioning; gross description and sampling of small uncomplicated tissue specimens; staining and coverslipping of frozen section tissue; maintaining supplies of gross room; disposal of old specimens; identification and resolution of labeling/identification discrepancies.
Ensure and maintain the confidentiality of patient information and other business information in accordance with HIPAA and other compliance standards. Comply with established UK Healthcare Values and other established policies, including but not limited to compliance, quality, and safety.
Previous grossing experience preferred. Must be a team player with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Skills /Knowledge/Abilities:
Knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures required. Must meet regulatory requirements to perform high complexity laboratory testing. Epic Beaker experience desired; grossing skills; medical terminology; typing; transcription. Must meet CLIA educational requirements for high-complexity testing.

Preferred Education/Experience:
Bachelor's degree with at least one-year paid experience in a pathology laboratory grossing small specimens preferred.
