JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Research Coordinator 1 - Level 2 (Interventionist) supports activities of the CHAMPS (Health IT) Study by implementing a behavioral intervention focused on weight loss as outlined by the CHAMPS research study protocol. The position also assists in study recruitment and eligibility, conducting telephone pre-screening and Screening Visits with prospective participants.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Delivers behavioral intervention to study participants as specified in the study protocol, which includes but is not limited to interactive sessions, telephone conversations, emails, and texts.
  2. Demonstrates understanding of intervention session materials and content and its delivery.
  3. Serves as primary contact person after study participants are randomized to study intervention groups and responds to any questions/concerns either directly or through referral to appropriate study staff.
  4. Collaborates with study team and participants to troubleshoot any problems with intervention delivery/uptake and participates in intervention specific trainings and meetings.
  5. Explains study objectives and study specific information to participants and administers eligibility questionnaire.
  6. Obtains Informed Consent in accordance with study protocol, Good Clinical Practice Guidelines, and HIPAA Privacy and Security Rule guidelines.
  7. Determines participants' suitability to serve as participants in assigned research project(s) prior to randomization by utilizing understanding of all inclusion/exclusion criteria and sound clinical judgment.
  8. Collects participant measurements and other data at protocol-specific Screening and Randomization Visits and enters this data into the relational Database Management System (DBMS).
  9. Performs timely and accurate entry of data and creates documentation.
  10. Documents Adverse Events using protocol specific procedures/forms and conducts any necessary follow-up.
  11. Ensures protocols are followed, monitors participant adherence to protocol, reports all protocol deviations, and takes action to correct problems such as deviations from protocol requirements.
  12. Perform other duties as required.
