Accounting Officer - Military Veterans

Pine Technical and Community College is seeking to fill two Accounting Officer positions.
Job Description
Provide professional accounting advice and service including interpretation of rules and regulations relating to Pine Technical and Community College, Minnesota State, the State of MN, the federal government, and a variety of public agencies. Duties will include responsibility for assigned campus-wide accounting functions.
Minimum Qualifications
- Two years of technical accounting experience, or equivalent combination of professional work experience and post-secondary education.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and practices sufficient to analyze and interpret fiscal data.
- Knowledge of budget terminology and principles sufficient to assist in preparing and monitoring the annual College budget
- Advanced computer skills in word processing, database management, and spreadsheets, etc
- Ability to prepare and interpret complex fiscal reports and records
- Ability to interpret and implement policies and laws related to accounting practices
Preferred QualificationÂ
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting
- Knowledge of Statewide accounting (or comparable) system sufficient to compile, analyze, and interpret fiscal information for use by management
- Effective organization, time management and communication skills
- Strong interpersonal relations skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with College staff, students, system-level finance staff, auditors, and vendors/contractors
Other Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State Colleges & Universities (Minnesota State) Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
