Overview
Superior Air-Ground Ambulance Service, Inc. is the largest independent, locally owned and operated Emergency Medical Service provider in Northern Illinois and Northwest Indiana, Michigan, Wisconsin and Ohio. Responsibilities
- Ensure all employees are paid bi-weekly by the third-party payroll provider.
- Answer inquiries and solve problems concerning payroll.
- Responsible for the preparation and reporting of payroll information to third parties such as W-2's, 941 quarterly payroll tax returns and other wage garnishments.
- Process new hires, terminations, benefits deductions, tax withholdings, address changes, department changes, and salary changes.
- Assist with preparing and gathering payroll tax reports, unemployment tax reports, EEO/DOL reports and various other payroll-related reports using Excel.
- Reviews uniform invoices and appropriately deducts from employee uniform balance.
- Pays invoices related to benefits deductions, provides payroll information to Human Resources and Finance, addresses tax issues.
- Enters all new hires into Ceridian and make them active.
- Handles all new direct deposit requests.
- Ensures compliance with all applicable local, state and federal wage and hour laws and keeps abreast of changes in laws.
- Serves as back-up to AP Clerk and Benefits when needed.
- Performs other general clerical duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 5+ years payroll processing experience, preferably using Dayforce
- Successful candidate will be organized, and detail-oriented with excellent customer service and communication skills
- Proficiency in MS Office required
- Knowledge of Wage and Hour and other payroll-related laws is preferred
- Salary Expectations: $75,000 annually is ideal, but this can be discussed
- Reports to the VP of Finance in Elmhurst (in-office M-F)
