Summary

This CONTINGENT key position will support HII-NNS CVN in-service project team in Bremerton, WA as a Work Test Controls team member. Responsibilities include Planning and review of Work Authorization Forms (WAFs) products and to provide technical system advice as required.

*This role is contingent upon being awarded the contract.

What You Will Do

  • Responsibilities may include, but not are not limited to the following:
    • Support topside contractor(s) processing of Work Authorization Forms (WAFs).
    • Identify and mitigate Propulsion Plant I Reactor Plant Interface and Reactor Secondary.
    • Ensure adequate safety isolations conducting shipboard safety walkthroughs and coordinating with other entities to resolve discrepancy identified during the walkthroughs.
    • Assess Containment Boundary implications.
    • Provide technical system advice.
    • Interface with MSRs, AITs, CIS and Ships Force to ensure maintenance items are met in accordance with the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM).
    • Ensure work is conducted in accordance with the schedule.


What You Must Have

  • 10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.
  • Must have experience working in a shipyard environment.
  • Must have experience generating, editing, and processing work authorization forms supporting CVN projects.
  • Must have knowledge of CVN systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of NAVSEA Standard Items, JFMM, OSHA 1950 and the TUM.
  • Must have experience reviewing proposed WAF/ Tag-out and providing suggested tag out corrections.
  • Must have experience coordinating with Ships Force and other waterfront contractors scheduling work and tag-out's to eliminate conflict with other work and ships systems, ensuring maximum production during the planned incremental availability is achieved.
  • Previous experience designated as a Tag-Out/WAD Coordinator.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security clearance.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base access and ships access.


Preferred: Bonus Points For

  • Experience with NMD is a strong plus.
  • A current, valid DoD secret security clearance or higher.


Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.
