Vacancy ID: PDS004079 Position Summary/Description: The post-doctoral candidate is expected to be familiar with conducting human subjects research. Prior training and experience with manuscript and grant writing, project management, and ability to contribute to off-site data collection efforts are desirable. Training will be interdisciplinary and focused on the trainee's specific needs, including mentored research experience under senior researchers in interdisciplinary research and participation in seminars. Duties include data collection and analysis, publishing in the peer-reviewed literature, participating in seminars and workgroups, and collaborating on research grant applications. Training may also include didactic coursework, depending on training goals and needs. Opportunities for teaching may also be available. The post-doctoral fellow will have the opportunity to conduct occupational health and safety research in close collaboration with the NC OSHECR faculty at UNC -CH, Duke University, and North Carolina State University. This Fellowship also offers an opportunity to work with researchers, public health practitioners, and clinicians across disciplines, as well as to become involved with existing collaborations with community groups, non-profit organizations, employers, and professionals. This broad network provides a rich, dynamic environment for trainees and substantial opportunities for research. The potential fellow must have recently earned a PhD in kinesiology, public health, injury epidemiology, occupational health and safety, or other related fields and is interested in cross-disciplinary training and research experience is encouraged to apply.
