Part-time Biology Professor - Continuous Pool - Military Veterans

Clark College is currently accepting applications for multiple part-time Biology Professor positions. Applicants must be available to teach in-person in the daytime or evening hours. At this time, we are particularly interested in instructors who can teach Majors Cell/Molecular Biology, Majors Organismal Physiology, Microbiology, and/or General Biology. The lecture rate is $90.47 per hour and the lab rate is $77.27 per hour.

This part-time position is an ongoing recruitment in which applications are collected year-round. Applicants must be available to teach the daytime, evening or weekend hours. Positions will be filled as program needs arise.

GENERAL FACULTY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Instruct Biology classes utilizing techniques and knowledge of the discipline that facilitate student learning.
  • Participate in decision-making processes by taking part in department and college committees.
  • Pursue professional development.
  • Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques.
  • Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
  • Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.
  • Effectively assess student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues and participate in relevant department activities that support the teaching and learning environment.
  • Effectively use computer applications (such as Canvas) and email for instruction and communication where appropriate.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND COMPETENCIES:
  • Master's Degree in Biology or a closely related field (with significant graduate coursework in biology) or a closely related field.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Ability to work well as a member of a team.
