The University of Cincinnati James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy invites applications for a faculty position in the Division of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor.
Job Overview
The James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy is located on the University of Cincinnati (UC) Health Sciences Campus. The UC Academic Health Center (AHC) includes the College of Medicine, College of Nursing, College of Allied Health, Cincinnati Children?s Hospital Medical Center (CCHMC) and the James L. Winkle College of Pharmacy. The AHC infrastructure includes several Research Centers/Institutes conducive to excellence in teaching and collaborative research and scholarship activities. Opportunities also exist for collaborations with a range of industrial partners in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and personal care industries. Our research and graduate education programs span diverse aspects of multi-disciplinary research in Experimental Therapeutics and Biomembrane Sciences. The successful candidate should have a strong commitment to graduate and professional education and research.
Essential Functions
- Develop and maintain a competitive, externally funded research program.
- Establish research collaborations across different disciplines and contribute to the dynamic collaborative research environment in the college.
- Attend meetings and participate in governance.
- Prepare, conduct, and teach assigned PharmD, MS/PhD, and Cosmetic Science courses including distance-learning courses and seminars.
- Serve as an academic adviser for students and evaluate students? progress.
- Serve on college and university committees and participate in curriculum evaluation and development activities.
- Serve on graduate committees, supervise laboratories and independent study activities.
- Attend meetings, participate in governance, prepare materials for teaching in the PharmD, MS/PhD, and distance-learning programs.
- Engage in other activities ancillary to or in support of his or her responsibilities.
- Render service to the professional or lay community which is relevant to the individual?s academic specialty.
- Review, and where necessary, respond in a timely manner to all University-related communications.
- Other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- PhD or equivalent degree in pharmaceutical sciences or related field.
- At least one year of postdoctoral or equivalent experience.
- Training in physical chemistry, biophysics, or equivalent areas.
- Research experience in skin sciences.
- Research experience in drug delivery systems such as optimization of drug dosage forms and delivery systems.
- US citizen, permanent resident, or work visa status in the US. This position is not eligible for H-1B sponsorship.
Additional Qualifications Considered
? Evidence of significant and relevant research accomplishments such as research publications and active external research funding.
? Research experience in the development and application of mathematical models for drug delivery.
? Experience in teaching and research collaboration with the industry.
