The Part-Time Student Program is primarily designed to augment the Company's regular full-time staff and is for students who work in parallel to their school schedule YEAR-ROUND.
Your Responsibilities
As a Part-Time Student Engine Aftertreatment CI for John Deere Waterloo Product Engineering Center located in Waterloo, IA, you will...
- Executes test or analysis plan to screen returned part (from warranty and field test).
- Conduct investigation (from field information) for part return disposition.
- Coordinate parts return to supplier for failure analysis.
- Document, organize, and visualize test data to report trends.
- Commutes to work location and commit to 16 - 20 hours/week during the academic year and 35 - 40 hours/week during the summer semester.
What Skills You Need
- Intermediate proficiency with O365 products
- Ability to be self-motivated and work independently while learning new methods and processes
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ideally you will be pursuing a degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or Computer Science; others may apply
- Graduation date of December 2026 or after
- Must be registered as a full-time student at a local accredited university (Hawkeye, University of Northern Iowa, Wartburg, etc)
- Experience in engineering analysis and troubleshooting tools (e.g. digital multi meter, and pressure gauge).
- Experience design and troubleshooting in electro-mechanical system.
- Good interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in technical systems (e.g. engine systems, data analytics, data wrangling, etc.).
