The following position is to join our RTX Research Center team:
The Additive Manufacturing Process and Capability Center (AMPCC) encompasses a critical mass of Additive Manufacturing (AM) process and industrialization experts, the necessary equipment, and develops the strategic collaborations needed to rapidly mature the technology and manufacturing readiness of AM. The AMPCC is focusing on the research, development and deployment of additive manufacturing tools and processes for our business units.
What You Will Do:
The Additive Manufacturing Project Engineer will be challenged with solving unique and interesting problems to enable new commercial aerospace and defense products. They will be responsible for one or more of the following activities as they relate to the AMPCC, including:
Develop and maintain project schedules to execute internal and external AM activities
Coordinate internal teams to reach alignment on AM material and machine requirements
Translate requirements into clear statements of work for internal and external suppliers
Coordinate supplier activities and ensure tasks are executed and documented per the requirements
Manage and track material transfers and shipping
Summarize and present project status in management meetings
Support the generation of monthly and quarterly reports
Work with cross-functional teams including materials, design, simulation, operations, and characterization engineers to gain a deep understanding of and support the full value stream
Qualifications You Must Have:
- A University Degree and 2 year of experience or an Advanced Degree in Mechanical, Materials, Manufacturing, or Chemical Engineering or related technical field.
- Scripting experience with Matlab, Python, VBA, JavaScript or similar
- U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access the financial management system due to government contractual requirements
Qualifications We Prefer:
- The preferred candidate should have a strong understanding of engineering principles and hands on experience working with material testing equipment.
- Candidate must be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary, collaborative team environment focused on innovation and have demonstrated both verbal and written communication skills including:
- Strong writing and verbal communication skills and ability to work with complex worksheets
- Strong presentation, planning, problem solving, organizational, and project management skills
- Highly self-motivated and detail oriented
