Part-Time Lecturer, Introductory Chemistry (Summer 2025) | Tufts University - Military Veterans

The Tufts University Department of Chemistry is seeking a part-time lecturer to teach our undergraduate General Chemistry II with Lab course in Summer 2025. The instructor is responsible for lectures to be held on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays from 9:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., holding once weekly meetings with teaching assistants, holding weekly office hours for students, and for student assessment, including preparation of exams and homework and overseeing and coordinating grading with the help of teaching assistants. The first day of classes this summer will be July 1, 2025, and the last day will be August 8, 2025. A strong understanding of general chemistry is required. A Ph.D. in Chemistry is preferred. Additional qualifications include prior teaching experience and a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching. The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys working closely with talented students and who possesses the ability to explain concepts in Introductory Chemistry to students with diverse educational backgrounds.
