Manufacturing Engineering Manager - Military Veterans

Purpose of Role
We are expanding our team and looking for an effective leader for our Production Engineering and Maintenance Departments. As an engineering and maintenance manager this position provides leadership for both day to day and long-term strategic initiatives. Working across multiple departments to ensure that daily production requirements are met in terms of equipment health and availability while providing sound engineering solutions to process related concerns.
This position will support budget tracking, facility planning, capital management and sustaining engineering and maintenance support of production and the facility. This position will further assist in training and development of staff members and assist in strategic planning for the organization.
Requirements, Key Duties and Responsibilities:

- Support and assist in enforcement of our Quality Management System (QMS) with incidents, countermeasures, and improvements
- Provide leadership and management of the Production & Project Engineering team
- Provide leadership and management of the Maintenance team
- Maintain department budget
- Provide leadership for all CAP-EX activities
- Monitor and manage all established KPI's (Key Performance Indicators) for both maintenance and engineering
- Establish clear lines of communication across multiple departments
- Maintain, create and monitor all process related documentation
- Be a resource to both maintenance and engineering staff
- Lead facility and grounds management
- Familiar with ISO 9001:2015 - Quality
- Familiar with ISO 14001 - Environmental
- Identify the root-cause of technical issues and develop countermeasures
- Prepare various reports as it relates to the positions span of control
- Present complex and detailed information to the senior/executive leadership team in a manner that is easily understood to make informed decisions.
- Additional duties as assigned
- Some travel may be required
Professional Skills, Qualifications, and Competencies:
- Education and Experience:
- BS or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or Similar Engineering major required
- Demonstrated ability gained through 5-7 or more years of engineering leadership experience, with direct leadership of staff required
- Six Sigma & Lean trained preferred
- Communication Skills:
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and in writing to all levels within the organization, with customers, & external agencies
- Presentation skills enabling effective demonstration of concepts, findings and recommendations to management, customers, external agencies, and auditors
- Reasoning Ability:
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and solid analytical skills
- Computer Skills:
- Experience working within a Quality Management System (QMS)
- Experience working within a Maintenance Management Software application such as Maintimizer or MaintainX
- Ability to utilize the full suite of Windows applications
- Familiar with Tableau or similar data presentation and analysis software a plus
- Certificates/Licenses:
- Applicant should understand Six Sigma & Lean practices; a basic understanding of Six Sigma Minitab software is a plus
- Math Skills:
- Ability to identify complex data that includes both measurement and quantity computations.
- Ability to read prints and interpret technical drawings
- In-depth understanding of technical documentation
- Familiarity with Statistical analysis
- Other:
- Previous work experience as an engineering manager, supervisor or similar role is required
- Applicants must be able to multi-task, prioritize, successfully manage pressure, and work/make decisions independently when required
- The successful candidate is a highly motivated initiative-taker with proven history leading successful projects and staff
- Must be familiar with and able to utilize AutoCAD and Solidworks
