The Vice President (VP) will work directly with Totalis MGA/MGU P&C Division’s leadership team to support, help manage and facilitate all program objectives - initiatives - and a “BEST PRACTICES” approach to the business with the ultimate-goal of long-term program sustainability. Duties will range anywhere from: assisting with any account underwriting-rating-quoting of referral business, developing/reviewing UW guides, conducting UW audits, assisting with state filings - or filing development, helping build management reports, participating on due diligence potential acquisitions, attending trade association conferences, assisting program marketing campaigns, and any/all “into-the-weeds” tasks needed. Strong emphasis on customer service, multi-line program management and product experience, carrier experience, P&L acumen both EBIDTA and CR (Combined Ratio), and MGA/MGU/PAA contract knowledge. Will also work closely with all NFP/AON departments, including sales (both internal and external agents), claims, actuarial, servicing, accounting, and IT to ensure all program transactions and administration are conducted efficiently, effectively, and correctly.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:

  • Work directly with NFP MGA’s and/or retail agents to promote the success of any program.
  • Account UW assistance as needed.
  • Development of universal management reports (pricing, hit ratios, retentions, WP vs. Plan, etc.)
  • Conduct internal UW Audits and other routine Quality Control as needed.
  • Development of Internal Risk Management (IRM) or Enterprise Risk Management (ERM)
  • Assist with any countrywide filings or filing development needs.
  • Assist with program MKT campaigns.
  • Review program loss ratio trends or other key performance metrics.
  • Assist Actuarial with information requests or other reporting protocols for better data & analytics.
  • “Risk Register” ongoing upkeep that includes all critical program management functions and details.
  • Populating MGU/MGA Division’s OneDrive - Shared Drive - Or Egnyte Z Drive management folders
  • IT development (including MGA Systems as the preferred platform provider)
  • Other duties as assigned such as product development and continual advancement of UW guides.

Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities:

  • Program management skills.
  • Strong communications skills both verbally and written.
  • Familiarity and/or working knowledge of:
    • MGA Systems (IMS & NETRATE) or other multi-line rating engines
    • Commercial P&C Mult-Line Underwriting (Property-IM-Crime, General Liability, Commercial Auto, Excess & Umbrella, Cyber, and Workers Compensation)
    • ITV tools such as Marshall & Swift
    • ODEN or general regulatory compliance
    • State Filings
    • Statistical-Operational-Management Data Reporting
    • Verisk or ISO Products (e.g., ISO Commercial Lines Manual (CLM) and ISO Forms Library)
    • MVR Ordering (e.g., Samba Safety)
    • CAT Management Tools (e.g., Hazard HUB or Risk Meter)
    • SERFF
    • Loss Control
    • Actuarial basic understanding
    • Profit & Loss, EBIDTA, Combined Ratio acumen
    • Any equivalent application or programs related to the above
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel/Word/MS Office/MS Teams
  • Strong attention to details
  • True “self-starter” and motivated
  • Strong organizational skills

Supervisory Responsibilities: N/A

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Business or Risk Management preferred)
  • 10+ years of experience in multi-line package underwriting (Workers Compensation a plus but not necessary)

Certificates, Licenses, Registration:

  • CPCU preferred
  • CIC preferred
  • ARM preferred
  • P&C License is a plus

The base salary offered will be determined by factors including, but not limited to, experience, credentials, education, certifications, skill level required for the position, the scope of the position, and geographic location. Actual base salary offered will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.
