Department Summary

The Technology Operations team oversees the design, development, implementation, maintenance, enhancement, and operations of IT platforms, systems, and applications in service of administrative units. The team also monitors the effectiveness and service delivery standards of these technologies to ensure business outcomes are met through innovative technologies. Additionally, the team focuses on process improvement and service excellence to key campus customers.The Events & Transportation IT Products team oversees the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of a suite of products essential for activities such as venue scheduling, campus traffic/parking, and vehicle management. The team stays up to date on emerging technologies and industry best practices, recommending improvements to campus operations.
Position Summary

The Application Administrator, Events & Operations IT Products, will be responsible for the day-to-day management, maintenance, and support of products/applications, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security. They will support environment configurations for various applications/products and install, enable and/or upgrade new vendor releases and other software needed to support the application platform(s). This individual will also assist in the resolution of Tier 3 operational support issues, playing a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of UCLA's technology offerings, directly impacting the success and efficiency of the university. If needed, they may also support user and application security setup including account setup and permission sets.

The Application Administrator, Events & Operations IT Products will positively impact UCLA's operations and culture by enabling University stakeholders to effectively leverage collaboration & productivity products in service of the institution's academic mission. This team member will advance the University's mission by delivering exceptional information technology services comprehensively and consistently across faculty, staff, and students. This role will execute UCLA's vision while modeling UCLA's culture and values.

Salary & Compensation

*UCLA provides a full pay range. Actual salary offers consider factors, including budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. Qualifications

  • Three years experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, computer science, management, higher education, higher education auxiliary services, events or operations services, o (Required)
  • Experience supporting on-premise, cloud, and mixed environments. Experience preparing Dev, Test, QA environments to support testing cycles. (Required)
  • Thorough experience with common programming tools. (Required)
  • Five or more years experience working in one or more of the following fields: information technology, computer science, management, higher education, higher education auxiliary services, events or operations services. (Preferred)
  • Experience in complex higher education environments, serving academic and administrative functions of a large public university. (Preferred)
  • Knowledge and skill supporting secure software development, software repository skills, and software specification, design, modification, implementation and deployment. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to understand functional needs and how systems can support those needs. Demonstrated ability to develop conversion and system implementation plans. (Required)
  • Knowledge of SDLC/ALM tools such as Git Repo, Azure DevOps, and CI/CD. Experience with front-end technologies including HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and similar. (Required)
  • Demonstrated ability to follow software specifications. Experience with planning for deployment and creation of feedback mechanisms. (Required)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and is able to communicate technical information and ideas to a diverse community of colleagues and stakeholders. (Required)
  • Able to establish and advance positive working relationships and a strong rapport with team members, stakeholders, and customers. (Required)
  • Strong organizational skills and is able to balance competing priorities and support concurrent projects. Ability to work in a project-based environment using project management practices. (Required)
  • Strong demonstrated problem-solving skills; scopes solutions based on knowledge of available resources and timelines. Able to ask questions, gather information, evaluate options, and make decisions with integrity. (Required)

  • Bachelor's Degree in one or more of the following fields: information technology, computer science, public administration, business administration, communications or a related field, or equivalent experience/training. (Required)
