Responsibilities

About the Role:

ITS Training and Communication Manager will be responsible for partnering with IT senior leadership and key stakeholders to design, develop and deliver training programs to support IT strategies, as well as companywide for enterprise systems. This person will take the lead in the, design, and content development, and analysis of training solutions. This person will also assist with IT Communications plans, Knowledge Management, IT Organizational Change Management, IT Appreciation and engagement activities, On-Boarding efforts, HR project collaboration, as well as various special projects and initiatives throughout IT.

  • Consult with senior leadership, key stakeholders, and training team members to create training curriculum to support IT strategies and enterprise systems
  • Design, develop or acquire training programs to be implemented within IT and throughout the enterprise according to needs and requirements
  • Support immediate and long range IT and enterprise goals by investigating and evaluating existing training programs and designing and administrating new programs
  • Investigate available training methods and procedures to determine the most effective manner in which to conduct programs
  • Stay current on all appropriate tools for developing technology-based training, instructional design theory and strategies and spearhead implementation of these as appropriate
  • Understand, communicate, and commit to the organization's vision, goals, and strategies Align department priorities and direction
  • Manage multiple, complex initiatives to successful implementation
  • Manage the team that designs, develops and facilitates/maintains IT training programs, communication plans, IT organizational change management, IT appreciation, IT Facilities planning and IT knowledge management
  • Manage Knowledge Management Council and assist with coordination of joint knowledge management efforts throughout GMF
  • Coordinate with IO/NA Corporate Communications on all technical related communications
  • Manage Organizational Change Management projects throughout IT
  • Maintain records on the progress and performance of those involved in the training programs
  • Provide ongoing coaching, follow-up and development
  • Provide and seek training and mentoring from peers for cross-functional growth, learning and career development
  • Develop and maintain productive working relationship with IT and other stakeholders
  • Maintain a full staff of highly motivated individuals that are adept at both instructional design and formal presentation/training skills
  • Lead staff in achieving their goals as well as the department's goals

Qualifications

What makes you the dream candidate:
  • Proficient working knowledge of Adobe Captivate, Adobe CS, Contribute, Visio, Adobe Acrobat series, Photoshop, Success Factors LMS, Paint and SnagIt
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint, Agile methodology, DevOps and ITIL/ITSM
  • Working knowledge of ServiceNow, SailPoint and Planview
  • Must have knowledge of Adult Learning Theory, ADDIE and SAM
  • Must have good understanding of instructional design principles, ASTD Competency Model and Blooms Taxonomy
  • Must have understanding of needs assessment methods
  • Must have the ability to organize and execute the rollout of large training initiatives
  • Working knowledge of the financial industry
  • Must be able to build strong relationships with senior management
  • Must stand above in a high visibility function; must represent the department and organization responsibly and professionally
  • Must have excellent written and verbal skills Preferably technical writing experience
  • Must have strong analytical, follow-up, organizational, and time management skills
  • Ability to formulate action plans, timelines, and execute plans within established deadlines
  • Must be able to build relationships with senior management
  • Must have change management, project management and influence skills
  • Must be able to relate well with others, build relationships and constructively interact with a variety of people (internal and external) situations
  • Self-motivated, with the ability to lead and manage multiple projects and deadlines, with little supervision
  • Creative and innovative thinker, willing to explore ideas and make impacts, improvements, or change
  • Willing to explore various creative employee engagement
  • Ability to lead change through people, process and technology
  • Ability to select, supervises, develop, coach and motivate team to ensure department goals are met

Additional Knowledge Skills and Abilities
  • Some Project Management experience preferred
  • Experience working with/administrating learning management systems (LMS)
  • Experience with web-based deliverables/eLearning

Experience
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work or military experience required
  • 2-4 years of management experience with a focus on training and adult learning preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in the design, development, delivery and training initiatives preferred
  • 2-4 years in Finance Industry preferred
  • 5-7 years as a Corporate Trainer preferred

OUR BUSINESS & OUR HISTORY

GM Financial was founded as AmeriCredit in September 1992 and opened its first branch office in Fort Worth, Texas. On October 1, 2010, AmeriCredit Corp. was acquired by General Motors Company and renamed General Motors Financial Company, Inc. (GM Financial). In 2011, GM Financial acquired FinanciaLinx to serve GM dealers and customers throughout Canada.  In November 2012, GM Financial announced the acquisition of Ally Financial Inc.’s international operations. The majority of those acquisitions were finalized in 2013, with the remaining market, a 35 percent equity interest in a joint venture in China, acquired in January 2015.  In October 2017, GM Financial completed the sale of its European financial subsidiaries and branches as part of General Motors’ sale of the Opel and Vauxhall businesses to Peugeot S.A.

 

GM Financial provides auto finance solutions to 14,000 dealers worldwide, with earning assets of $93 billion at September 30, 2018.
