The Business Intelligence Developer will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and enhancing analytical solutions that drive data-informed decision-making across F&O. This individual will utilize reporting tools such as Crystal Reports, Tableau, and BIRT to design, develop, and deploy advanced reporting solutions. The ideal candidate will also possess strong SQL skills to extract, transform, and analyze complex datasets, ensuring the accuracy and relevance of information delivered.
In this role, the Business Intelligence Developer will:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand reporting needs, translating requirements into effective and actionable business intelligence solutions.
- Design, create, and maintain a wide range of reports and dashboards that support operational and strategic decision-making.
- Write efficient and optimized SQL queries to extract data from various databases, ensuring accurate data representation.
- Perform advanced data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business decisions.
- Support data integrity by validating the accuracy and quality of data used in reports and dashboards.
- Train and support end-users to ensure effective use of BI tools and delivered solutions.
- Work with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvement through better data management and reporting.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field or 5 years equivalent experience.
- Minimum two years developing, supporting, and maintaining dashboards and reports using Tableau.
- Minimum two years writing SQL to develop, support, and maintain reports or ETL scripts.
- Minimum two years developing, supporting, and maintaining reports using Crystal Reports or similar reporting tools.
- Proven track record of meeting or exceeding project expectations and deadlines.
- Experience working effectively within a team environment.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate technical ideas both verbally and in written documents to all levels of the organization.
- Effective listening, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to travel between sites across all U-M campuses.
- Experience in developing BIRT reports.
- Proficiency in data visualization techniques for reporting purposes.
