Raytheon Industry 4.0 – Connected Factory & Intelligence (CFI&A) has an immediate career-growth opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated, and innovative Automation Systems Engineer (ASE) team member to join our Team within the Sensors portfolio. 

This role includes sustaining and developing physical automation solutions (robots, PLCs, HMIs, and vision systems) and their integration with business systems. Bridging the gap between physical and digital automation by leveraging Ignition to deploy machine connectivity and visualization solutions will be a critical part of the role.

What You Will Learn

This role will merge technical, manufacturing, and business knowledge to drive new innovations across Raytheon.  The role has a foundation in controls engineering but offers significant opportunities for growth including developing new automation opportunities, quantifying business value, presenting to leadership, and then coordinating across functions to execute initiatives. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative, diverse, geographically distributed team of engineers and leaders. 

This position is an onsite role in Andover, MA.

What You Will Do:

• Continuously improve and troubleshoot automation systems, primarily Robotics, PLCs and Vision Systems

• Integrate and manage spares inventory for active and upcoming systems

• Program front end visualizations in Ignition (Java / Python)

• Drive collaboration between Industry 4.0 team and Factory Operations

Qualifications You Must Have:

• Typically requires a Bachelor degree in Engineering

• 2+ years of experience in manufacturing operations/engineering, systems engineering, controls engineering, and/or automation engineering; or an applicable advanced STEM degree 

• Experience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment

• Microprocessor or Programmable Logic Controller Programming

• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

• Active DoD Secret Clearance

• Fanuc Robotics experience

• Rockwell PLC experience

• Keyence, Cognex, iRVision experience

• Programming Experience

• Manufacturing or controls background

• CORE certification

The salary range for this role is 64,000 USD - 128,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
