CNC Service Technician - Crew Leader (Minneapolis, MN) - Military Veterans

Summary of Responsibility:

The Service Crew Leader will be responsible for the daily oversight and supervision of our Field Service Technician workforce in designated region. This role will support the workforce’s daily activities, supervise administrative reporting and assist in annual performance reviews.

This will be an office and field-based role. Crew Leader will still assist with on site with daily service appointments and supporting technicians in difficult repairs along with supporting Tsugami facility requirements.

What You Will Contribute:



  • Responsible for workforce supervision of Field Service Technicians.


  • Responsible as Tsugami America service liaison to Distribution service.


  • This includes but is not limited to, supporting the teams daily activities, service report review, and assistance with annual performance evaluations.


  • Ensure that all Tsugami machines are installed correctly and running at optimal levels per customer expectations (Review pics/videos provided by Service Tech’s at point of installation completion)


  • Manage current and new customer relationships.


  • Act as a liaison, along with the Tsugami Assistant Service Manager to provide service updates, feedback, and quality suggestions to ultimately improve upstream efforts.


  • Evaluate technician’s technical proficiency and build training plans as needed.


  • Supervise new Service hires and provide feedback to Management. Suggest the best career path based on observations. (Install, Service, PM, termination)


  • FST Interview participation.


  • Assist with resolving invoice disputes from a technical perspective.


  • Engage with FST on jobs that are taking longer than expected.


  • Submit Quality escapes and potential corrective action initiatives.


  • Training Module compliance oversight for self and Service Crew.


  • Manage and approve warranty and courtesy part request flow with Service Coordinators.


  • Ability to maintain a safe work environment for all employees.


  • Strong organizational skills/possessing traits of being able to follow a systemic method of performing a task.


  • Directly related experience in troubleshooting situations / problem solving skills


  • Ability to complete assigned tasks under stressful situations.

Qualifications & Competencies:



  • An associate’s degree in a related field is preferred; High School Diploma or equivalent experience/GED from a technical school is required or relevant military or previous work experience acceptable.


  • Proven experience supervising a team


  • Experience working with CNC controls.


  • Understanding of electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic schematics.


  • Problem solving skills and attention to detail with technical proficiency is required.


  • Ability to read and understand drawings, manuals, and schematics.


  • Advanced level skills in software associated with Microsoft programs and other related business programs, as required.


  • A valid driver’s license is required.


  • Excellent written and verbal communication, listening, organization and priority setting skills.


  • Ability to perform Equipment Installation.


  • Prior experience with Fanuc controls
