Job Description:

Parsons is seeking an exceptionally talented Tunnel Ventilation System Engineer to join our team of experts in Dubai. We are looking for a candidate with extensive experience in executing Metro/Subway projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the development and optimization of tunnel ventilation systems, including airflow, smoke control, and environmental control systems.

In this role, you will provide technical leadership and direction for various phases of a significant rail and transit program, ensuring on-schedule completion within or below budget and in accordance with contractual obligations.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Experience in design, design optimization and construction administration of Ventilation Fire & Life Safety systems for Rail Tunnels.
  • Ability to review and optimize tunnel ventilation systems, including airflow, smoke control, and environmental control systems.
  • Experience with design criteria manuals, technical reports, calculations, drawings and specifications, heating and cooling load calculations, pressure loss calculations etc.
  • Experience of using advanced software tools to simulate tunnel ventilation scenarios and analyze system performance under various operating conditions.
  • Ability to work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including civil engineers, electrical engineers, and project managers, to integrate tunnel ventilation systems into the overall project design.
  • Provide on-site supervision during the installation, testing, and commissioning phases of ventilation systems.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues related to tunnel ventilation during both the design and construction phases.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to present design concepts and project updates.
  • Ensures adherence to all corporate, contractual, ethics and safety standards, policies, and procedures.  
  • Ensure adhere to relevant industry regulations, environmental standards, and safety protocols. Supervise necessary permits and approvals required from relevant authorities.  
  • Monitors and reports to management on the progress of relevant project activity within the program, including significant milestones, and any conditions which would affect project cost or schedule.  
  • Participate in discussion with regulatory agencies and in public meetings in support of clients.  
  • Completes other responsibilities associated with the position as may be appropriate

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s Degree In Engineering, or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Chartered Engineer status is ideal.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in Tunnel Ventilation Design and engineering on large rail infrastructure projects.
  • Must have Metro/Subway experience.
  • Strong understanding of tunnel ventilation principles, fire safety engineering, and environmental control systems.
  • GCC experience is preferred.
  • Must have experience in a consultancy environment or in client facing roles.

  • Ability to function in a multi-organizational environment by developing relationships that complies with the client’s proactive, collaborative culture.
