Field Service Technician - Military Veterans

This organization offers diverse PDU (power distribution unit) and UPS (uninterruptible power supplies) solutions to the military, shipboard commercial, industrial, data center, and crypto mining markets. Providing solutions for almost every power-related project and covering everything from mission-critical warship installations to industrial automation. Beyond physical products, they off their proprietary control and monitoring software, which can be integrated into most standard and custom solutions. They are currently looking to add a Field Service Technician for their Virginia region. Looking for candidates anywhere from Richmond up to Northern Virginia. The Field Service Technician applies diversified knowledge of power distribution units (PDUs), uninterruptible power supplies (UPSs), and remote power panels (RPPs) from company systems to complete startup, testing, troubleshooting, modifications, operation, and maintenance work. The technician will be homebased and dispatched to customer sites as required. This role requires travel up to 75%. Most travel will be regional, but some jobs can be at customer sites in other states.

Specific duties:

- Startup and commissioning of new units

- Maintenance and repair: Responsible for maintaining and providing emergency support for the company's equipment at customer sites within the regional coverage area

- Modifications: Implement field modifications, follow procedures generated from the back office, and provide feedback on said procedures as needed

- Training and development: Attend periodic training at headquarters on various OEM units and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including testing equipment and rebuilding older systems

- Troubleshooting: Work with the technical support group to troubleshoot maintenance or operational issues with equipment

- Field service reporting: Generate field service reports (FSRs) that are clear, professional, and completed in a timely manner

Base salary, $75K - $100K, plus overtime. The benefits offered include medical, dental, and vision coverage. They also offer an IRA plan with matching. All tools are provided, company laptop and phone. They give a $500 car allowance and mileage reimbursement. Travel paid for anywhere would need to fly.
